DESCRIPTION:Bikes to Blooms Wildflower Event Saturday May 13th 8am-3pm Bake Stewart Park & Row Point Trailhead\, Row River Rd.\, Dorena (12 mi. east of Cottage Grove) The Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council (CFWWC)\, US Army Corps of Engineers\, US Forest Service Cottage Grove Ranger District\, Native Plant Society of Oregon\, and Kennedy Alternative High School\, welcomes the community to discover spring wildflowers in bloom. With a local expert as your guide\, we invite you explore a series of rare\, remnant prairie and oak habitats along Dorena Lake. Bikes to Blooms is a free\, educational event that features activities for families and nature enthusiasts\, including a morning bird walk\, stewardship opportunities\, educational booths hosted by local organizations and guided wildflower walks. Travel east of Cottage Grove and experience this ecologically valuable and scenic landscape and to see the southern Willamette Valley in bloom. Bikes to Blooms will take place on Saturday\, May 13th from 8am to 3pm at Bake Stewart Park and Row Point Trailhead along Dorena Lake. The event is free and open to the public. Bikes to Blooms event schedule -- Bake Stewart Park: 8:00am Bird Walk\, 10:00am Wildflower Walk\, 11:00am Family-Friendly Wildflower Walk and 1:00pm Pollinator Walk. Row Point Trailhead: 10:00am Invasive Plant Stewardship Project and 1:00pm Wildflower Walk. Educational booths\, located at Bake Stewart Park\, will be open from 9am-3pm. All walks are accessible by car or bike\, carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited. Participants should bring a picnic lunch\, water\, weather-appropriate clothing\, weed-free shoes\, and a helmet if cycling. Please leave dogs at home.
